About the author Lisa Kerpoe is an accomplished artist,  author and instructor.  She left a successful career in human resources twelve years  ago to pursue her passion - creating art.  She focused on textiles because she loves  their tactile quality and is entranced by the  beauty of cloth gently moving with the air  current. Although Lisa is primarily self-taught, she  has studied with several artists and  instructors. Their generosity and encouragement fueled Lisa’s artistic  journey.  Lisa feels strongly about continuing that circle by sharing what she has learned to support others in their creative journey. To that end, she began teaching surface design workshops eight years ago.  In 2011, she released her first book, Vibrant Color: Combining Soy Wax and Dye for Brilliant Results, co-authored with Jane Dunnewold. In 2010, she  produced two instructional DVDs, Vibrant Color (with Jane Dunnewold) and  Irresistible Texture, a comprehensive tutorial on the use of five water-based resists. Lisa’s work has been shown in exhibitions throughout the United States and  internationally. She is an adjunct faculty member at the Southwest School  of Art in San Antonio, Texas, and teaches textile and surface design  workshops across the United States.  Lisa was juried into the ArtCloth  Network in 2008. Professional memberships include the Surface Design  Association and the Fiber Artists of San Antonio. Lisa feels that she is living her dream - with a balance between studio time  and time spent in workshops sharing her knowledge. She resides in San  Antonio, Texas with her husband and a variety of foster animals. Visit Lisa’s website
